NaNo 2017 – Day 26 – Enhancing my Calm

Day 26 was not a wonderful day by any means. It started out fine but it ended on a frustrating note. I was almost vibrating by the time I got to my writing (at 9:30 PM). I expected that, with being upset and not focused at all that day 26 would be my first failure of the month.

I’m happy to say I was wrong. I decided to try anyway and after a couple hundred words I found myself calming down. A couple hundred more and I was able to sharpen my focus and by the time I hit one thousand words I had a good rhythm going again.

Number of Words for the Day:  2,055 words

How I Hit my Word Total for the Day

One long writing session. from 9:30 until 10:30 PM

Today’s Goal: 2,000 words

I have no meetings tonight so, if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to get my word count reasonably early. I should also be able to pass the 60,000 word mark. That particular number is important because it tells me I didn’t just stop when I hit 50,000. I showed the perseverance to keep going. That is something I hope to continue through December too.

The only difference with December will be that I’m also editing what I’ve got. So, my goals will be slightly different for that month. I will shoot for 500 words per day and a minimum of 30 minutes of editing. That should allow me to finish another book and have the preliminary edits complete on two others.

Number of Words to Date: 58,230 words
