Something Different

This week has been very different. For starters, my back has been giving me a lot of trouble (probably because I was trying to move a shower down narrow stairs Saturday and it was temporarily jammed. I was on top holding said shower while my moving partner was below. That meant I was holding it while he tried various things.

So, nasty back this week. Fortunately, I think the problem is mostly aching muscles but it has still been a challenge to walk, sleep, etc.

I’m also taking a remote study course. There are 11 of us in the class plus our professor. It has been interesting but strange to be doing school again. Homework and reading every night. Today’s class is the last one until January when we do part 2 of the course.

All that while still working half days (just for this week – back to full days next week). Like I said. Different.

What is coming up?

Next week I’m going to spend a bit of time lining up the plotting work for the next books. I’m also going to spend a bit of time pre-editing Mik 5 (I really need a better title).

I’m going to spend a bit of time before Christmas getting things ready for the new year, but I don’t expect to do any serious work on them until at least February. January will be spent getting the plotting nailed down.

A bit more about this week

The timing of the course was both good and bad. Work has been draining lately so the (sort of) break was needed. Something different to focus on exercised my brain in a different way. The back set me…well, back, so I’ve been forced to be more still and do my reading and homework. Maybe that was a good thing.

I’ll try to put it in a positive light. I don’t think I’m fooling anyone though (myself included).

We got a bunch of snow over the past 48 hours. Unfortunately, I’ve been in no condition to shovel. Fortunately, my neighbour has been helping out. Fingers crossed that I can return the favour later this winter.

Have a good weekend everyone.
