Reviews are Worth More than Sales

I came to the realization last week that at this point in my writing career I would much rather have reviews than sales.

I know that sounds odd, but there’s a very good reason I say that.

The more reviews a books has (specifically on Amazon) the more likely it is to be featured and actually show up in someone’s recommendations (who isn’t associated with the author). I always find it laugh-worthy when Amazon recommends my own books to me, especially when I realize I’m probably one of the few people getting that recommendation.

I either laugh or I cry. I choose to laugh.

I know I’ve made the offer before but I will make it again. If you are willing to put a review up on Amazon for me, I will happily send you an ebook version of any of my novels. I just ask that you let me know when you have posted the review so I can share it with the world.

Does that sound fair?

If it does, please email me (author at michellplested dot com) or comment on this posting with the book you would like (along with e-format) and I will send it your way. I am happy to do this for you for all my books, but will only send one book at a time. I also accept comments on Facebook, Tweet requests and carrier pigeons (although I don’t have any bird seed to feed the pigeons with).

Don’t hesitate. This offer isn’t a limited time one but the sooner you contact me with your request the sooner the review goes up to help the book(s) go up in popularity. Trust me, if you want to help me with my book sales, this is the best thing you can do right now.
