NaNoWriMo – Day 11

I went back to writing first thing in the morning today. The problem I had was I’ve almost hit the end of my existing plotting for my NaNoNovel. So I wrote what I could and I began to look at what I need to do for the next portion of the story.

It was also Remembrance Day today in Canada so I spent time reflecting on what that means to me. So many men and women have served in the armed forces so I can be free, it’s very humbling. My dad was in the Navy, my maternal grandfather was in the Army and my paternal great grandfather fought in the Boer War so my family has a history of service. I still remember my dad talking about his involvement in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the tensions of that day.

I wanted to do more writing at lunch time, but because it is a holiday, I spent time with my family instead. It was so nice to take a break and spend some quality time with them.

I managed to spend more time writing in the evening but I didn’t quite do as much as I wanted. Still, it was a good day. I got to spend time with my wife and kids AND I got some writing done too.
