A Fringe Benefit of Social Media

If you have followed me at all you know that I LOVE social media in its many forms. Twitter, Facebook, Blogging, Podcasting. They all have given me new friends, and new opportunities that I would never have gotten any other way.

One of those new opportunities hit me last night. I wasn’t looking for it. I didn’t expect it. It just blindsided me.

And if it wasn’t for the fact that I have set a moratorium on new projects, I would be working on it right now. Yes, that’s right, this very minute.

I’m not going to say too much yet. I know that talking about it will only make the fire that burns less. Suffice it to say, I didn’t sleep at all last night. I spent the entire night thinking the myriad of possibilities through. And what is even stranger is, I would never have said that I would do this. Not ever. It is a project born completely of spontaneity doing something I never thought I would, or could do.

I know, I’m teasing. I’m giving a lot of build-up without any substance. But the last time I had an idea like this, my collaboration with JR Murdock was born and I am loving that project. I know this one will be equally awesome, and at the same time, totally different.

This one is going to be another collaboration. That is all I will say.

Stay tuned and watch this site and Twitter and Facebook and… well everywhere else for the announcement of the project. I expect it will be kicked off in September or October.

Personal Update

I haven’t done one of these in a while partially because I’ve been struggling a little. My cover artist did a photo shoot for my “Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero” YA novel so I’m excited to see what comes out of that.

I also submitted my Fantasy novel for consideration to another publisher. Fingers are crossed.

The biggest news (aside from what I talked about above) is I’m working on the collaboration project full-tilt again. I’m using my iPad and Pages to write a bit every day. I’m amazed at how little is left. This is going to be a very fun read. I can’t wait to start showing it off.
