I’m sort of a late-comer to conventions. I really only did my first one four years ago. Ever since, I’ve been a convert. I definitely see the value from a network perspective and from a pure learning and having fun point-of-view too. I’ve also wanted to be more involved. Last year I sat in on a panel that talked about Social Media/New Media/Podcasting and its place in writing. I realized quite quickly that this was a panel I should have been on; even though I had only been podcasting for eight months myself, I had been listening to podcasts and learning about them for much longer. Hours in the Day (or should I say, minutes?)
There just never seems to be enough time to do all the things I need to do. I’m already booked with recurring events Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and some Wednesdays and weekends are always busy. Just where the heck am I going to find time to write? I know I’m not reading as much as I want (see less than a book every two months at the moment) and a number of other activities are being put to the wayside. I get to talk to Lindsey Grant. Lindsey is the Program Director for NaNoWriMo. She has an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Mills College and was amazed to find the magical place that is the Office of Letters and Light. The OLL, for those of you who don’t know, is the wholly wonderful place that has conceived both NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy. We talk about a lot of things including how NaNo started, what some of the NaNoWriMo goals are and how to “win” NaNo. In the feedback section of the show I talk about some the things that have made NaNo so enjoyable for me. Thanks for listening. Show Notes 00:00 — Opening – Get Published Episode 41 – Lindsey […]

Well folks, this is the end. Now we all have a chance to find out what happens to Earth, Greklor, Grokmar, MegaDan and, of course, the humans themselves. I would like to thank you all for joining me on this journey. It has been both gruelling and extremely rewarding. The next step for the story is to move it over to Podiobooks.com. I’m also going to shelf the story for a few months before I come back and edit it into book form. If I’m lucky, it will see a paper version in the near future. One last thing. I will be making t-shirts available to celebrate GalaxyBillies completion and move to podiobooks. Watch for it in the next two […]
