I don’t talk about my books enough (although my daughter might disagree). For example, Jack Kane and the Statue of Liberty was release in July and, other than a handful of tweets and some posts to Facebook, I didn’t really say a ton. At least, not compared to some. And by some, I mean those folks who Tweet nothing but promotionals for their newest work. THAT is not my way of doing things. In point of fact, I actually despise those types of Tweeters. Change of Heart – NaNoWriMo

I wasn’t planning on doing NaNoWriMo this year. I kept reminding myself that I have too many other demands on my time. Then, on Sunday, I started anyway. Who needs a life anyhow, right? 🙂 Seriously though, one of my projects on the go is the second book in the Scouts of the Apocalypse trilogy. I actually tested the story out on my Scouts already so it was time to write it. I really want it out in early 2016 so it made sense to get that added kick in the pants NaNoWriMo offers. You Can’t Please Everyone

I try to write fiction that everyone will enjoy. I try not to be offensive in my writing, but invariably, someone takes something the wrong way and goes away angry. It always bothers me when that happens but there isn’t much I can do about it. Take, for example, a comment I recently got about my story, GalaxyBillies. The comment in question was regarding the use of the word, “schizophrenic.” I use the word to describe the thought processes of one of the characters. NaNoWriMo 2015

If you’ve ever wanted to challenge yourself in your writing, I highly encourage you to try NaNoWriMo this year. In a nutshell, NaNoWriMo is a self-challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Sounds impossible? It really isn’t. Especially because their is a wonderful website (http://nanowrimo.org/) that helps you track your words, connects you to other writers taking the challenge AND provides emails of encouragement the entire month. I have actually won NaNo five times (or is it six) since I started doing it. In fact, two of my NaNo novels have gone on to be published. Alas, I won’t be officially participating this year.
