NaNoWriMo – Day 20

As you have seen by the results of the past few days I have been having a reduction in my writing output. Today was a refreshing change in many ways. I was able to have a relaxing writing day. I got up after sleeping in an extra hour and spent an hour working on my writing. My son and I had some errands to run which temporarily stalled the writing, but that was fine. I worked on my stuff a bit more after I got home and spent another hour in the early evening doing more writing. Then I had the privilege of attending the Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing 10th Anniversary Steel and Steam party. I got to […]

NaNoWriMo – Day 19

I’m afraid the no writing in the morning or at mid day trend continued today. The snow keeps falling and the people on the roads keep driving poorly so I have to (a) shovel every morning and (b) leave extra early so I can actually make it to work on time. My evening output wasn’t terribly stellar either but for a very good reason. My daughter took me out to see Harry Potter 7pt1 for my Christmas present. I know very well that the two part way they are presenting it is a cash grab and unfortunately the emotions in the movie are a little flat for me, but I still enjoyed the night out. Even though this movie was […]

NaNoWriMo – Day 18

Today was not a normal writing day for me. The snow continues to fall (I think we are up to or very close to twelve inches or twenty-six centimetres of snow in the last three days) and people continue to get worse in their driving. As an example, the first day took me forty minutes to drive to work (it usually takes me twenty minutes). Day two was a forty-five minute drive and today was an hour. You might argue that the driving times are worse because of the extra snow but the road crews have been doing a yeoman’s job keeping the streets clear of snow. Anyway, long story short, I’ve been leaving earlier and earlier which means I […]

NaNoWriMo – Day 17

Let me lay it all out on the table. I didn’t make my 1,667 words today. I did write some, but not nearly enough. I actually managed to convince myself that I could have a slow day for a change and now I’m shutting down feeling guilty about it. Having said that, I had very good output this morning. I managed almost 450 words before I had to brave the blowing snow and go to work. The roads were no worse than yesterday but the drivers were. What is normally a 20 minute commute was 45 today (yesterday too, unfortunately). Such is life in a northern city, I suppose. I didn’t have any opportunity to write at lunch time so […]
