You might think that the pressure is off my shoulders now that I’ve hit 50,000 words. In a way you would be right if you thought that. The pressure to win NaNoWriMo is definitely off. Unfortunately, it was replaced by a new kind of pressure. The pressure to finish and edit my two short stories. I admit, I have no one to blame but myself for this stress. I meant to write the stories and have them finished in October. What ended up happening is I got lazy and didn’t write them at all (well, maybe lazy is too strong a statement. NaNoWriMo – Day 21
I will not be setting any personal bests for NaNoWriMo this year, but it has still been a good one for me. I’m almost finished the two short stories, I have made great progress on my NaNoNovel and my surprise project has be fantastic. I know that I’ll be very happy with the story when it’s done, but that won’t be this month. I only had two thousand words left going into this day and I hoped I would be able to do it. I worked on my stuff a bit more after I got home and spent another hour in the early evening doing more writing. Then I had the privilege of attending the Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing 10th Anniversary Steel and Steam party. I got to […]

I’m afraid the no writing in the morning or at mid day trend continued today. The snow keeps falling and the people on the roads keep driving poorly so I have to (a) shovel every morning and (b) leave extra early so I can actually make it to work on time. My evening output wasn’t terribly stellar either but for a very good reason. My daughter took me out to see Harry Potter 7pt1 for my Christmas present. I know very well that the two part way they are presenting it is a cash grab and unfortunately the emotions in the movie are a little flat for me, but I still enjoyed the night out. Even though this movie was […]
