An amazing thing happened today – I realized I finished the first chapter of my soon-to-be masterpiece. This is important to note as the very first book I wrote took me twenty-five (25) tries and several months. I have now managed it in one try and two days. Perfect first chapter? Not by a long shot. Written and therefore editable? Absolutely! Challenges for the Day Work. Again. Not that it was a bad day. It was quite good actually but it does take away from writing books time. 🙂 We also had the whole family together for dinner. That is a rare thing with both my kids/young adults/young grownups having their own lives. It was awesome but also meant I […]

I Have Books
My copies of Scouts of the Apocalypse: Zombie War have arrived and I couldn’t be happier. They are beautiful and I love the cover more and more every time I look at it. Even better, I was concerned that, because it was significantly different from the first book cover, I would find the difference too jarring. I needn’t have worried. Will they be able to use what they’ve learned to restore the undead or is the human race doomed? Whatever the answer, the Scouts are going to do their very best to overcome this disaster. I came to the realization last week that at this point in my writing career I would much rather have reviews than sales. I know that sounds odd, but there’s a very good reason I say that. The more reviews a books has (specifically on Amazon) the more likely it is to be featured and actually show up in someone’s recommendations (who isn’t associated with the author). I always find it laugh-worthy when Amazon recommends my own books to me, especially when I realize I’m probably one of the few people getting that recommendation. I either laugh or I cry. I choose to laugh. I know I’ve made the offer before but I will make it again. If you are […]
