I Am Editing

If you are like me, you probably enjoy the act of creating new work more than the act of polishing it. I know there are people out there who LOVE editing their writing more than the actual writing itself. I do like the polishing, but with all the ideas in my head fighting to get out, the writing is still more enjoyable. But…unless the polishing happens, there can be no publication of stories. If there is no publication, then I’m not sharing my work with people and that is ultimately what I want to do. So, with two books at the editing stage, I am now hunkering down to get the polishing done. The current book I’m working on is Jack […]

Let Me Tell You About My Character – Felonious Fenduke Filtcher IV

Felonious Fenduke Filtcher IV is one of my favorite characters to write. Not because he is particularly intelligent (he is, but in a VERY insane sort of way) or handsome or strong. He is, however, a villain of the moustache twirling variety. Did I mention he is also insane? Felonious is the feature villain in the Jack Kane series co-written by JR Murdoch and myself. And by some, I mean those folks who Tweet nothing but promotionals for their newest work. THAT is not my way of doing things. In point of fact, I actually despise those types of Tweeters. I try to hit that delicate balance where I’m neither talking too much nor too little about something. I’m pretty sure I fail epically on the too little side of things. So, with all that said, […]

Get Published Episode 155 – Jack Kane is Coming

A few years ago someone had the brilliant idea that JR Murdock and I should do a project together. The reasoning was, our writing had a lot of similarities. We both wrote science fiction where humour played an important part. Our styles of writing were similar. What would happen if we joined forces? We met one night via Skype and talked about the idea. Before the call was complete some two hours later we had a firm idea of what we wanted to do, when we wanted to do it and how. And now, on June 1st, that project will finally be available for everyone to enjoy. Burst books is publishing our book and it will be available as an […]
