Going a bit off-track

Learning I’m going to write about something other than writing (sort of) today. I’m going to talk about learning. One of the most important lessons I learned early in my life is to never stop learning (yes, you will read the word “learning” a lot in this post. The challenge to continuous learning is (a) finding the time, (b) finding the money, (c) finding the information and (d) not overloading yourself. I Now Have a Newsletter!

Newsletter At long last, I have a newsletter. I know that may not sound Earthshaking or momentous, but it marks a new chapter in my writing career. The name of the chapter? Self-promotion. Believe it or not, I really haven’t done much for self-promotion in the past. Yes, I have a Facebook account and a Twitter feed. I also have this website. Those are all somewhat passive mediums. I post stuff and hope that people will follow and read what I’ve done. The newsletter is different (at least, in my mind). I am actively asking people to sign-up for it. The Last Post of 2018

2018 2018 has been a topsy turvy one. On the one hand, I’ve had to deal with an ailing parent. On the other, my daughter got married and I saw the third and final installment of Scouts of the Apocalypse (Zombie Masters) published. I think, all things considered, that I will call this year a draw; I can’t call it a win and, since I’m still moving forward, I won’t call it a loss either. Book sales for 2018 reached an all-time high, which is a good trend. Unfortunately, all-time high does not equate to going full-time as a writer. Not yet anyway.
