For those of you who don’t know, I am co-editing an anthology (titled A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil) with Jeffrey Hite. This is a project that we conceived more than a year ago over Twitter. We decided it would be fun to try our hands at creating an anthology and started the process of doing it ourselves, all the while looking for a publisher. We didn’t have to look long before Lorina Stephens and Five Rivers Publishing decided to take on the project with us. I Have a New Short Story Coming Out on Every Photo Tells

By the title, you can probably guess that there will be some pimping going on in this post. You would be right, but that isn’t the sole purpose of the post. The good folks at Every Photo Tells have a very interesting premise for their short story podcast. Every month they post a new photo on the site as inspiration for all us writers. Authors are encouraged to write a story (between 1,000 and 5,000 words) based on the picture and send it in. If the story is accepted, they do an edit and podcast it. Keeping Track of Your Characters

I just had an OMG moment while writing book 2 of Mik Murdoch, currently titled, Mik Murdoch and the Power Within. I have been moving along quite nicely in the writing when I realized something. I had named one of my new, main female protagonists the same as one of my baddies from the first book. That would never do! I mean, it is theoretically possible that two people will have the same name (obviously) but, with all the names in the world, should I be naming two characters the same?
