I usually don’t talk about contests too much (my own or others) but I came across one that is too good not to talk about. CA Marshall, who you may remember from episode 32 of Get Published, is running a contest where the winner will receive a FREE substantial edit. Yes, you heard me right. A free edit of a manuscript up to 100,000 words with a focus on Plot, Character and Pacing. Not bad, huh? I know getting my work professionally edited (did I mention she is a professional editor) is high on my list of priorities and if you are hoping to get your work published, it should be on yours too. Another NaNoWriMo Put to Bed
It is now December 1st and that means NaNoWriMo is done for another year. This year was another good, but gruelling one. I blame that mostly on my own inability to keep my projects down to a single manageable one. As you probably know, I ended NaNo having worked on four distinct projects: two short stories and two novels. I did manage to finish both short stories. In fact, they were both due for submission by midnight of November 30th which I was able to do. It was with a HUGE sigh of relief that I did just that. You will have already noticed that I didn’t post yesterday. That was because I left the house around 10AM and wasn’t home until 1:30AM the next morning. I am now completing my two short stories so I can send them out so I need that editing focus. I also need to start getting GalaxyBillies ready for podiobooks.com so there is added demand on my time. Thank you to everyone who has shared my NaNo adventure with me. Congratulations to all the people who managed to write during the month of November. Whether you managed 50,000 words or 50, […]

J Daniel Sawyer is a gifted writer, podcaster and all around interesting fellow. I was lucky enough to meet him at Balticon this year during my first pilgrimage and I’ve wanted to get him on the show ever since. Well, the waiting is over. I talked to Dan about writing, marketing and all sorts of other good things and today I share that discussion with you. You may hear some things that surprise you but isn’t that what this show is all about? 🙂 In the feedback section of the show, I talk about my NaNoWriMo journey this year. Some successes, some incompletes and even a couple disappointments. Thanks for listening. Show Notes 00:00 — Opening – Get Published Episode […]
