I hate talking about money. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I firmly believe that if you see value in something (like stories), you should support them. There are many ways to do this. One cheap and easy way is to talk about a writer’s work. If you like it tell people. Encourage them to sample that writer’s wares. Another is to use the donate button whenever available and throw a buck or two in the pot. I have a couple stories out there right now that depend on this model. One is GalaxyBillies (found on podiobooks.com) and the other is Stolen Immortality found at Sorcerous Signals (http://www.sorceroussignals.com/StolenImmortality.html). Entering the E-Age
I’ve finally taken the plunge and it has only taken my first two stories being published in e-format to do it. I now have an e-reader. It’s a step I’ve wanted to take for a while; I really wanted an iPad, but finances simply don’t allow it. However, I can’t complain about the e-reader I’ve got (we’ll see how I feel after I’ve had it a few months). There have been several hints that I should get an e-reader. As you may or may not know, on the 4th of July I had my first story published. It is a short story titled “Apprentice” and published by the new e-press/audio press Flying Island Press. It isn’t the first story I’ve sold. That will be coming out in the August 2010 issues of Sorcerous Signals (free e-magazine) and Mystic Signals (print – available on Amazon.com). Both of these stories represent firsts for me. First sale and first to see publication. They also represent a LOT of work; I’ve been writing for several years to get to this point. It feels really good to be able to share these accomplishments with you and I am enjoying the feeling. It would be […]
