Collaboration: Communications is Key

I have had the pleasure (and continue to have) of collaborating with several extremely talented people and I have learned the key to successfully collaboration. Another ‘C’-word: Communication. Without proper communication, any project will likely fail. When you are working with another person who is also busy, that failure is practically guaranteed. Take, for example, the Action Pack Podcast, which is scheduled for release the end of this month. Scott Roche, JR Murdock and myself are each writing a story in serial form with a new episode every month. That means writing, recording and production of the podcast each and every month. Get Published Episode 69 – Virginia O’Dine & Bundoran Press

I’ve had the good fortune to meet some remarkable people at conventions and online. One of those people is Virginia O’Dine. Virginia is one of the founders, the publisher and editor for Bundoran Press. I have a book under contract. That means I will soon be doing revisions, marketing and promotion. The revisions seem straightforward enough, but the promotional and marketing elements could be huge. Interviews, blog tours, talking to book stores, getting all the various social media outlets setup. I am self-publishing a book. That means revisions, layout, getting cover art and, as above, all the promotional elements. […]
