May 28 – 30th was the Memorial Day weekend in the United States. That means Balticon was in full swing. Last year I was fortunate enough to attend, but, alas, funds to go this year were simply not available. So, for me, and others like me, the weekend was just that, a weekend much like any other. Except, early last week, a few people started talking about Balticant on Twitter. We moaned a little about not being able to visit New Media’s Mecca. Get Published Episode 58 – Scott Roche, Editor & Self-Published Author
Hello, my friends. As you may know I’m self publishing a book in the coming weeks. I’ve heard from some of you looking for more information on self publishing so I’ve made a point to have more guests who have self publishing experience. This episode I will continue in that vein with a great interview with Scott Roche. Scott is one of the editors with Flying Island Press and has come out with a self published version of his book Ginny Dare, Crimson Sand in both paper and eBook formats. I get to talk to Lindsey Grant. Lindsey is the Program Director for NaNoWriMo. She has an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Mills College and was amazed to find the magical place that is the Office of Letters and Light. The OLL, for those of you who don’t know, is the wholly wonderful place that has conceived both NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy. We talk about a lot of things including how NaNo started, what some of the NaNoWriMo goals are and how to “win” NaNo. In the feedback section of the show I talk about some the things that have made NaNo so enjoyable for me. Thanks for listening. Show Notes 00:00 — Opening – Get Published Episode 41 – Lindsey […]
