Lots Going On

There are a lot of times that I think I’m my own worst enemy. I get myself going on multiple projects, then, just for good measure, I throw a few more things into the mix. For example, I’ve got a couple writing projects, a book being revised, two anthology ideas developing and I’m going to World Fantasy Convention on October 27th. That should really be enough, but I’ve also decided to do NaNoWriMo again. Oh yeah, and those are only my writing commitments. I’ve also got family, work, Scouts, my Get Published podcast and a couple other things. Yup, I’m definitely my own worst enemy. Get Published Episode 68 – What Agents Bring to the Table with Amy Boggs

I follow a number of people on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. Publishers, Editors, a bunch of authors and even a couple agents. I’ve also managed to get people from each of those categories on the show. Well, almost all of them. I’ve never had an actual agent on the show. Get Published Episode 67 – Jack Whyte Talks About Agents, Publishers and Editors

When I heard Jack Whyte was going to be at the “When Words Collide” conference, I hoped to be able to talk to him there. I was blown away when he actually agreed to appear on “Get Published”. Jack has been a published author for more than 20 years and I am a huge fan.  Jack had a lot of things to say about agents, publishers and the editing process. It was a great interview, but longer than most. That being the case, this episode will not have a tips and typos section. I […]

Get Published Episode 66 – SEO and Self-Promotion with Allison Duncan

I’ve been working on editing my “Mik Murdoch” manuscript and it has proven to be an interesting exercise. I’m already seeing where I have rushed things too much and I have a better understanding about focusing my story. It will be interesting to see what my editor thinks about the changes I’m making. In today’s show, I have some questions from an up-and-coming author I met during the “When Words Collide” convention. She asks about building a website and blogging. I also had the chance to listen to Allison Duncan talk about Search Engine Optimization during the DragonCant virtual convention. I quickly realized how much I had to learn and how important SEO can be to a new author. I […]
