Motivation

There are definitely times when I am feeling somewhat less than motivated to work on that next book or story. I know I’ve got deadlines, but the story is dragging or I’m tired or not feeling well. Then there are times when I simply cannot wait to get the next book written. Those are, I’m happy to say, happening more and more frequently. Most often, these motivations are triggered by a fan telling me how much they enjoyed my book or books. Tonight I had the pleasure to hang out with a local Cub Scout group. NaNoWriMo – Update

NaNoWriMo. The word, to those of us who know what it represents, elicits a broad range of emotions. For some, it strikes fear. For others, it is an opportunity. So, I talked to him and learned a bit more about what he is doing. And it turns out, he is doing […]

In case you are wondering, that was the younger, more pessimistic me (yes, I’m older now and I’m still occassionally pessimistic – on the whole I have a great deal more self-confidence in myself and my writing now) As I have grown more comfortable in my own writer’s skin, I’ve changed that question from what to how much? As in, “How much time do I realistically have to look for an agent?” It even goes one step further too and this is where the cold chills often grip me. […]
