I hear stories from my fellow authors all the time about how someone has reached out to them to say how much something they wrote has changed their life. I’ve always envied those people hoping to have something similar happen to me. Yesterday it did. I received a note about a story I wrote for the shear fun of it. One I hoped people would enjoy but also one I didn’t think would make any kind of an impact other than entertainment. Then, I got a note on Wattpad from one of my readers. I have a lot of very talented friends. That’s a good thing because, whenever I start to lose my own motivation, I just have to look around to see what amazing work is going on around me. That always helps to kick me back into gear. One of those friends is Val Griswold-Ford. I stumbled across her work when I was still trying to get my own stuff written. The book is targeted to […]

I have decided to do NaNoWriMo again this year after a two-year hiatus. “Why?” Simply put, NaNo has always been a great motivator to me. I like to challenge myself and NaNo allows me to do that. It really gets my competitive juices flowing. I have a lot of writing to get done in the next few months and this will really set me up for success. My best ever NaNo was 50,000 words in 19 days. I don’t know that I will beat that this year, but my goals are higher too. I’m going to try for 70,000 words in 30 days. I think I can do it. How about you? Will you be doing NaNoWriMo this year?
