Lorina Stephens was kind enough to tag me in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop, which is a Goodreads promotional enterprise among indie authors and publishers to highlight authors and books which might otherwise slide under the radar of many readers. We all answer the same 10 questions, which allows readers an opportunity to receive a brief overview of either a published work or a work in progress. 1. What is the working title of the book? Spreading the Word
I love helping other people spread the word about what they are working on. I even like talking about what I’m working on. What (I think) I am terrible at is promoting my own finished work. In this case, I’m talking specifically about Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero. As you probably know, Mik Murdoch was released last August. I have tweeted about it. I have created a Facebook Group and I have received several great reviews about it. On the writing front, Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero was released August 1st and is gaining momentum. I’ve also got book two of the series under contract. The anthology, A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil is under contract and will be released next […]

One thing that I have a lot of difficulty with is looking at my own work with an unbiased eye. I suspect that is a problem many writers have. For the first time, I have heard (if not read) what it is like for my audience. I am listening to the Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero audio book proof and it is very strange for me. I’m not doing the narration so I am hearing someone else’s interpretation of the book. It is giving me a brand-new appreciation of the story. It is a lot of fun laughing at scenes (or being moved in other ways) simply from the reading of the story. I have a better idea of what works […]
