I am hot and cold on editing. There are times when I absolutely LOVE the process and others when I would prefer to do anything but. Regardless of how I feel about them, I have recognized the need to really think about what my editor is asking for. I find if I don’t, I might completely miss their point and either: (a) write something that doesn’t fit the story, (b) write something I’ve already written so it appears more than once in the story, (c) delete some of the stuff that was good, replacing it with bad/worse writing. There are times when I really have fun editing and other times when it is painful and grueling. In both cases it is necessary so I do it (sometime reluctantly) to the best of my ability. I have been privileged to meet and know several authors, editors and publishers as they developed their careers. One of those is Sue Baiman. I mentioned back in early November that I had two stories coming out in two different anthologies. The first of those anthologies was titled Lucky or Unlucky: 13 Stories of Fate. I thought it would be fun to talk with Nila White who is the editor and publisher of the anthology. So on today’s show, Nila and I discuss the anthology and what went into its production. I also have to apologize. Things are pretty crazy and, as you might be able to tell from my voice, I’m sick. There won’t be a Tips and Typos section in today’s episode. Still, the conversation with Nila was great and is worth listening to. Enjoy the show. Show Notes 00:00 — […]
