The End of Step One

I used to think that writing a book was the only thing I needed to do to be a writer. I guess in a way I was right. By writing, I am a writer. Just not a published one. Now that I have done some writing and even gotten a couple stories published, I know that the writing can be the easiest part (believe it or not) of the process. GalaxyBillies – Episode 19

Well folks, this is the end. Now we all have a chance to find out what happens to Earth, Greklor, Grokmar, MegaDan and, of course, the humans themselves. I would like to thank you all for joining me on this journey. It has been both gruelling and extremely rewarding. The next step for the story is to move it over to Podiobooks.com. With NaNoWriMo fast approaching, I wanted to talk about the process where I develop my own ideas into stories. For the purpose of this I will use a sample idea and work it through. Coming up with a story idea This is the single easiest part of the story for me. I get story ideas from everywhere all the time. From television, movies, other books, going for walks and hearing the news. The commonly held belief among “Experts” is that there are no new idea. Just new ways to execute them. Jennifer Rahn is the author of two novels, The Longevity Thesis and Wicked Initiations, and has two short stories published or accepted; the first is ElectroFunkSepukku, which appeared in Dragon Moon’s Podthology, and the second is Metal Rat and the Brand New Jungle, which is slated to appear in the inaugural edition of Space Puppet Press’ Strange Worlds anthology. She wrote her first novel, The Longevity Thesis, while in grad school and vehemently denies that her graduate supervisors resemble in any way, the villain of her novel — it’s just for fun.
