Second Book Angst

I’m busy revising Mik Murdoch: The Power Within for my publisher. After a bit of a shaky start, I think I’m hitting my stride…I think. The problem is, when I wrote this book, I knew it needed more of a continuous storyline than the previous one. The previous book, Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero is very much an origin story. It is comprised of many little mini-stories that follow a larger plot. This one is more of a big-picture story that has mini-stories in it. Get Published Episode 127 – YA Author Arthur Slade

I expected 2014 to be busy and full of new experiences and so far, I haven’t been disappointed. I’m going full-bore on my Mik Murdoch: The Power Within edits, getting ready for the work on Jack Kane and the Statue of Liberty AND getting ramped up for the new anthology Jeff Hite and I are putting out. I also just finished my first workshop for one of the local school’s too. And January is nowhere near over. That’s just the writing side of my life. Submissions are Open

You may or may not be aware, but Jeffrey Hite and I are putting another anthology together to be published in early 2015. This anthology is different from A Method to the Madness: A Guide to the Super Evil. Instead of articles about how to become a super-villain, it will be comprised of stories about Portals to Places you might not want to go. Submissions for the anthology opened January 1st and we are inviting all interested writers to send us something. In case you are interested, Jeffrey and I talk about the anthology on episode 125 of Get Published in the Tips and Typos section of the show. You can also find all of the details (including submission guidelines) at: http://www.portalundermysink.wordpress.com/. […]
