NaNoWriMo – Day 21

I will not be setting any personal bests for NaNoWriMo this year, but it has still been a good one for me. I’m almost finished the two short stories, I have made great progress on my NaNoNovel and my surprise project has be fantastic. I know that I’ll be very happy with the story when it’s done, but that won’t be this month.

I only had two thousand words left going into this day and I hoped I would be able to do it. I really need to be finished the focus on 50,000 words so I can start trying to finish the short stories and get the necessary revisions made. Of course, I’m under the gun; both stories need to be submitted by November 30th.

The problem I’m having is finishing them. I don’t want to rush the end of the stories because the endings won’t be good enough if I do. But at the same time, I want them finished so I can move on to the next step which is the revision. The problem is, I don’t want to take a shortcut with them.

It is a quandary.

So I worked on all the projects today to hit 50,000 words. I exceeded 5,000 words on my pirate story. I still have a ways to go with it so I will need to do some cutting and tweeking. I’m ready though.

On the other story, I have hit a critical point. I need to decide how I’m going forward with it to finish it properly. I also managed another scene in the NaNoNovel. It was hard going.

I had some exciting news that boosted my day though. I found out that my good friend Aaron Kite, Writer and Artist extraordinaire will be doing the cover for my book, ‘Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero’. I’ve seen his work and it is amazing so I have really high hopes for the cover. It makes it even more exciting.

So, how much did I manage today?

I didn’t get any writing done until the evening so my numbers were:
