Convention Fun

This weekend marks the third When Words Collide (A Festival for Readers and Writers). For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to attend, it is one of my favorite conventions. It started out fantastic and has only gotten better. I approach these types of events with several goals in mind: meet and network with people – this is a wonderful opportunity to meet my readers and get to know other writers, editors, publishers and marketers in a friendly environment. Mik Murdoch: The Power Within Is Now Available

There are defining moments in every career. For the writing career phase of my life, today’s launch of Mik Murdoch: The Power Within, is one of them. Why? To put it as simply as possible, today I am a series writer. Mik Murdoch: The Power Within is the second (of many to come) book in the series that was kicked off by Mik Murdoch: Boy Superhero. Way Outside the Comfort Zone

I wouldn’t call myself an extreme adventurer, but I do like to do activities that some would consider a little crazy. For example, last weekend, I took my older Scouts (Venturers: 15 – 17 years-old) on a weekend camp-out. We rode our bikes from the city to a campground approximately 20 kilometers away where we setup our tents and camp. Not too insane, right? Probably not, but it gave me a pretty good idea about traveling longer distances without a car (and wearing a pack). Then, the next day we went white water rafting.
