I hate talking about money. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I firmly believe that if you see value in something (like stories), you should support them. There are many ways to do this. One cheap and easy way is to talk about a writer’s work. If you like it tell people. Encourage them to sample that writer’s wares. Another is to use the donate button whenever available and throw a buck or two in the pot. I have a couple stories out there right now that depend on this model. Get Published Episode 54 – Lorna Suzuki – Self-Published Success
Hello Everyone and thank you for joining me. In this week’s episode of Get Published I had the pleasure of speaking with Lorna Suzuki. Lorna Suzuki is a full-time scriptwriter specializing in biographic documentaries for TV. She is also the author of both the Imago series and the new Young Adult Fantasy series, The Dream Merchant Saga. If that weren’t enough, she has over 25-years of experience in various forms of martial arts and is a 4-dan practitioner and instructor of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. I also did a review of Terry Pratchett’s latest release, “I Shall Wear Midnight”, another tale of Tiffany Aching and the Nac Mac Feegle. Finally, I talk a little about my own writing projects. I hope you […]

They are a lot more than just words to me. They are the fundamentals to getting published. That may seem like an odd thing to say. After all, isn’t getting published all about writing the best book possible? I don’t deny the best book trumps all else, but if you have written a good book but give up after the first rejection, you will never live to see it published. The same holds true if you aren’t willing to wait for the book to work its way through […]
Read moreThe Secret is (finally) Out
I’ve been hinting at a secret project for several weeks/months that I finally announced during Episode 53 of Get Published. For those of you who either don’t listen to the show or haven’t yet heard, spoiler alert. You may want to avoid reading further until after you have listened to the show. For the rest of you, read on. The secret project is actually my first collaborative writing project. I am working with author, podcaster and social media personality, JR Murdock who currently has two books up on Podiobooks.com. We are writing a Steampunk, YA, Superhero mashup. What is making it fun for both of us is the way we are writing the story. JR is writing the part of […]
