Hitting My Stride

I have finally gotten to the point where I have some reasonable expectation that editors and publishers will read my stuff and not say to themselves “That sucked. Next!”. I’ve been told enough times by people in the know that I can write so I don’t have quite the doubts I used to. That doesn’t mean I expect every single thing I write to be accepted but it has given me the confidence to write stories I wouldn’t necessarily have attempted in the past. A great example of this is GalaxyBillies. I love reading the SciFi and Fantasy with Comedic tropes but I never felt good enough to do it myself. Now I’m doing it and, while it may not […]

GalaxyBillies – Episode 11

More questions are raised in this episode (like there weren’t enough already). Does Sheanna’Ree really know someone who can help Jim Bob? And even more importantly, will he? What the heck has happened to Bobby John? Is the Galactic Counsel still searching for Earth? Believe it or not, there will be some answers. Jim Bob also goes a little crazy. And just what is going on with MegaDan? I had a lot of fun writing this episode on the way to and back from Balticon. I hope you enjoy it. I have also created a Group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=372503069110&ref=ts) and a Fan Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michell-Plesteds-GalaxyBillies/406961900026?ref=ts) on Facebook. If you feel so motivated, please join one or both.

I took a brief wander through the con, saw a few of the people I recognized and kept going. I was on my way to my room for the first time when I stopped myself. It was time to take myself to task. I asked myself the hard question: why am I here? Now before I go any further, I hope you don’t find it too […]

Get Published Episode 32 – The Importance of Agents: A Conversation with CA Marshall

I had the opportunity to talk with Author, Freelance Editor and Literary Agency Intern CA (Cassandra) Marshall. We talked about the importance of agents to authors and a few other things too. It was a great conversation that I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I didn’t get any questions or feedback for this episode so I thought it would be nice to give you all a view of my own personal plan to publication. I talk about my four main tactics and the success I’ve had so far. Thanks for listening. -Michell Show Notes 00:00 — Opening – Get Published Episode 32 – The Importance of Agents: A Conversation with CA Marshall Everything has to start somewhere and this is the start […]
