I have been reading since a very young age. I can still remember the first book I ever read: Patrick the Pup. I think that, along the way, I have learned a little bit from every book I have read (even Patrick), and have applied it to my writing. I have one problem with this. Last week Friday I received the author’s copies of my debut novel, Mik Murdoch, Boy Superhero. That alone was enough to make this a fantastic month. That encouraged me to finally build a Facebook group for the book (which I’ve been meaning to do for several months). I honestly have been dragging my feet on this because I haven’t been using Facebook much lately. When I have used the tool, I haven’t seen much in the way of reaction or response. For those of you who aren’t aware, May 25th is Towel Day, an annual celebration and tribute to Douglas Adams. Douglas Adams, in case you grew up without access to great literature (okay, that was tongue-in-cheek, honest!), was the creator of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, one of my all-time favorite books.
