Get Published Episode 126 – JR Murdock & Michell Plested Sold a Book!

Happy New Year and welcome to the first episode of 2014, which is also my sixth year podcasting. With the exciting news of our new book deal, JR Murdock and I decided it might be time to talk about our collaboration one more time. It has been quite a while since we last gave any tips or talked about what we had done. Besides, we are both really stoked to be bringing the book out for everyone to enjoy. We just want to spread the news one more time. I also came across something that hasn’t reared its head before. Tying a sequel novel into the previous one. That became very evident when I got my first round edits back […]

I’m (Finally) Published on Wattpad

(Warning, this post contains a multitude of links) I’ve been hearing about Wattpad a LOT over the past months/year. My good friend Aaron Kite has several of his novels up on the site and even won the Watty Award for his novel, ‘A Touch of Poison’ (which I highly recommend, BTW). Ever since hearing about it, I’ve been considering how to best approach Wattpad. I mean, what are the ramifications to putting one of my stories up there to readers and publishers alike? Get Published Episode 111 – Every Photo Tells a Story

But where are markets for shorter work and how do you get your writing into those markets? On today’s show I talk to Mick and Katharina Bordet, the creators of the short story podcast, “Every Photo Tells”. We talk about why they created the podcast and what they are trying to achieve with it. We also talk about how other writers can get involved. I also round out the episode with a book review of the near-future dystopian science fiction novel, “88” by Michael R. Fletcher. That’s today’s episode. I hope you enjoy it. Show Notes 00:00 — Opening […]

Without proper communication, any project will likely fail. When you are working with another person who is also busy, that failure is practically guaranteed. Take, for example, the Action Pack Podcast, which is scheduled for release the end of this month. Scott Roche, JR Murdock and myself are each writing a story in serial form with a new episode every month. That means writing, recording and production of the podcast each and every month. If even one of us fails to have our individual story element finished, the whole thing falls down. That means we need […]
