I am fortunate to be participating in the Writer’s Conference “When Words Collide” this weekend. It is being held in Calgary, Alberta and I will be on two YA Writing panels. I know, for most of you, this is impossible to attend since you aren’t actually in Calgary. For those of you who are, please come by and say “hello”. For details about the Con go to: http://www.whenwordscollide.org/.

On the Subject of Guest Posts
I spoke about this very subject on “Get Published”, episode 63 (the last one for those of you who listen) and I wanted to share my thoughts here as well. Guest Blog Posts. Good or Bad? I’ve been giving it a lot of thought, especially as I have seen and participated in several of these myself the past while. In essence, a blogger or blog-site asks various people to write (as a guest) a post on some subject to be displayed on the blog. I am very excited to announce that “Get Published” has been shortlisted for a Parsec award. For those of you who don’t know, the Parsecs are awards for Speculative Fiction podcasts. That includes podcasts (like “Get Published”) that talk about the creation of speculative fiction. “Get Published” is up against some great competitors and there was a HUGE group this year; over 400 entries. Good luck to all the finalists. It is such a thrill to have made it this far. Fingers are crossed that it will go all the way. If I don’t, I won’t stop creating the shows that I hope you find useful. Thank you all for listening and your involvement in a show that means a […]
